In recent decades, policy coherence for development has become particularly relevant insofar as it aims to go beyond traditional analysis centred on development assistance and focus on developing a framework to analyse government public policies in their ensemblel and how they contribute or fail to contribute to promoting human development. In this regard, the Plataforma 2015 y más is working on a policy coherence for development index aiming to measure countries’ PCD. This paper specifically analyses fiscal policy and highlights relevant aspects that should be considered when assessing fiscal policy from a human development, equality and sustainability standpoint.
